Toddler Parent Marathon

Around 200 young parents with their Toddlers hit the streets on Sunday Morning 2nd April 2017 to be a part of a “Healthy Toddler Initiative”. Earlier children would play outdoors and get exercise by running and riding bicycles. Unless children are actively involved by an adult in sports, gymnastics, dance or similar activities, they have limited involvement in exercise-related activities. Aerobic activities like running, cycling, swimming, etc. strengthens the heart and improves the body's ability to deliver oxygen to all its cells.

Toddlers Nursery organized this marathon to initiate a healthy lifestyle among toddlers as well as parents. Flagged off from Toddlers Nursery Mohammedwadi the walkathon culminated at the same point after covering the entire road up to Handewadi. The 2km walk saw an array of parents in full swing supporting the Run for a Cause appeal. All the proceedings from the marathon were handed over to Mrs. Sumangala, the representative of Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). The amount would then be directed towards the treatment of children suffering from cancer.

At the end of the run participants were given healthy refreshments. They also shook a leg amid vibrant dance performances and rock songs put up by the Caliber Dance Academy, tried their hand at the sports corner set up by FunDay, enjoyed floor games like Giant Snakes and Ladders, Tic-tac-toe, and spinning the wheel. The obstacle race by little gym was a challenging activity to do. Photo booth attracted the crowd where participants clicked selfies using various props.

Mr. Murtuza Rahim the Director of Toddlers Nursery said “It was for the first time that our organization had organized such an event. And we were greatly supported by young parents. We intend to hold such events so that people come together and deal with concerns of the community in a harmonious and a fun way.”

Toddlers Nursery the largest dedicated preschool learning centre also had the opening ceremony followed by the marathon. The ribbon cutting ceremony was done by Shri Sanjay Kumar ADDL D.G.P. CID MS. Toddlers Nursery is excited to build a relationship and work collectively for the future generations as a community.
